Hey all

I finally got around to setting up my 2x1x18 tank and assorted gear after it sitting in the garage gathering dust for the last 18months.

I am planning to try and keep it to a "natural" theme with a fair few live plants, driftwood and I would like to only put Australian native Freshwater fish in.

Look forward to chatting and sharing info with everyone here. I will probably be asking a lot of questions as I'm only new at this hobby

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Your set up sounds a lot like mine. I have a 2.5ft tank with 2 silver perch and 2 tandanus catfish. Both native to Aus. The tank also has a few different plants in there along with a few rocks and a pretend bark tunnel. I would love a decent bit of driftwood but really i cant justify the price of it.

My setup is pretty basic it just has an undergravel filter, nicely planted and set out, and I just utilise my normal lighting from my light on the roof and the natural sunlight that fills the room.

Both those species of fish seem to love my tank, although I am assuming they will grow too big for it as I believe perch can get to around 40cm + and the catfish can reach 90cm +

Good luck
