I have about 28 fish tank with predominantly pleco catfish. Since each one likes about a foot of space each, you can see why so many tanks.

My favorite cory is the Panda as they go will with the plecos and fry and even breed for me a little bit as I see a baby or two every so often.
I have even found half grown ones when cleaning the canister filters lol.

As dither fish I have endlers and red cherry shrimp with the bigger plecos as they seem to leave the fry alone.
Fantastic as water quality barometers with the younger plecos I have some rainbow fish.
When their colors go pale, I know to check my water and its saved many a tank disaster.

I tolerate one pair of discus because they are so pretty but the furtherest they have gotten in breeding is free swimming fry. After that they usually have a domestic argument and eat all the fry.

I have a senegal bichir in a 4ft tank to herself, mostly because she will eat anything smaller than herself and the 4ft's not really enough room for two big fish.

I have one 6ft African cichlid tank with Ikola frontosas and electric yellows. The yellows breed fairly easily but I haven't seen the frontosas holding any fry yet.

I also have one redseamax 250L marine tank, only started it late last year. It is a very bad influence as I spend so much time looking at the corals, I forget to do the weekly pleco water changes on time.

Our house is a high Queenslander style one with flexible timber floors. It didnt really work out well with our walking vibrating the tanks upstairs so I have made a dedicated fishroom down under the house.
I got the sparkie to install 4 fluro lights on one switch and heaps of double power points. The room even has its own separate fuse and safety shut off in the power box.

We added some solar panels to the roof as well because I was getting some pretty interesting power bills with all those tanks.

Actually, I havent taken any room photos for a while. I must do a little tidy up and take some. Thanks for the reminder.
I will also put up my marine tank pics in the proper section too.

My fish stocks have dropped off while I renovate my yard and garage. The plan was to turn the garage into a fishroom since my F100 won't fit into it anyway, but my mother has a lot of her stuff in there at the moment.

I have 2 4 foot tanks, one with guppies and the other with blue rams, one six foot tank with goldfish that my neighbours gave me when they moved and a 3 foot tank in the bedroom that I have a breeding colony of BN's and two cory's in. I wasn't trying to breed the BN's they just did it on their own. Once I do get the fishroom set up I intend to start breeding the BN's, corys, and guppies in earnest. I am also going to start back with Bettas (I used to breed them a couple of years ago) and I want to try with the blue rams as well. I'll let you know when I start and how they go.

Sounds like an impressive setup Rhonda. In regards to breeding, what are you finding that sell easier than others? Or have a demand? I am curious as I am not too familiar with freshwater but know the marine stuff.

Hey,
I am now to this tite and fish keeping too.

I have 2.5ft planted aquarium. Currenlty has 10 neon tertas. Still reasearching/deciding what other fish to put in with them. Will get a couple of bn. Just need to decide between dwarf gourami or blue rams to fill it out.

Cheers
Ducky
