I got this tank, my first ever marine tank in Nov 2010. Its about 3ft in length.

Substrate is 6 x 9kg bags of oolite live sand and originally I had 50kg of liverock until I culled it to a more modest 30kg.
I use a prepared salt mix, seachem aquavitro salinity (mainly because it came in a 30kg drum on special).
I am using all the standard T5 lighting, the stock skimmer and pumps but have added a Vortech MP10w ES wavemaker (to stir up the detritus up the back behind the rocks.)
Chiller is a Hailea HC-150A (sort of a necessary evil in sunny Queensland.)
Livestock is a strombus snail, a couple of turban snails and a lawnmower blennie called benny (except he is a she.)
Step by step photos to date. BTW the conch shell is only a shell, there is no conch in it.

My elegance coral didnt seem exactly happy right in the corner where the current could advance quite high at times. It was also difficult to clean the glass near him.

Last night I moved him to a more central area and the result is quite remarkable.
